Spotlighting Aftercare

Aftercare Importance
Aftercare management is important firstly because without it we will certainly drink again. How we care for our sober-self is as important as any other major health concern such as heart disease, etc.

Our perception of our health is also important because if we think we don't need help or support after getting sober we will be alone in the sober journey and will likely drink again. Mental health professionals can help with this reality check.

Take advantage of those with the skills to support our effort to get well. Doctors, Faith Inspired Professionals, and Social Workers who understand what our condition is can be a great blessing to our effort.

What They Do
RecoveryIsland.Com is a San Antonio based website Founded by June L. June has put together a site dedicated to the continued recovery and rebuilding of our lives.
RecoveryIsland.Com has more than just a minute or two of valuable information on its site. We have spotlighted nine valuable recovery links that can be used by those of us in recovery that are struggling with moving forward, and can be found on the site. Most do contain advertisements, but are still resources containing useful information. Thanks June, for all you do to help us in our recovery.
Below you'll find the nine recovery links that make our list here, and give RecoveryIsland.Com the Spotlight. I do need to say that the "Being Accountable" link was more advertisement than anything so I changed the link to one that I feel serves as a good link substitute. I believe in free sobriety but give two bucks at meetings for the coffee, rent, and literature support. I, however, dispise ads that prey on our sobriety.

Managing Money
Managing our money may not have taken a priority when we were drinking. Stepping back into handling money is important.

Bad Credit
Of the things we destroy while drinking, credit is perhaps the most detrimental to us. It may require outside help.

Employment Gap
Burning employment bridges is another favorite alcoholic trait. Navigating the job market when sober may take new skills.

Giving Back
As we receive in sobriety so should we give back without reservation. The paradox of giving is awesome in sobriety.

Regaining Trust
Trust is perhaps the most valued part of a relationship. Sober living is about making and rebuilding relationships once lost.

Being Accountable
I own my sobriety. The good, the bad, and the ugly. I don't pass it off on parents, religious leaders, or life events. It's mine.

Staying Positive
Positive thinking wins in the end. A way of spiritual living is a positive way to access the hidden potential inside ourselves.

Exercise
Exercise prevents us from becoming a victim to gravity and helps us matabolize the new sober world we live in.

Yoga & Recovery
Like exercise, yoga can open doors to our inner being, and spirit. It can prevent stress from taking control in our lives.
